If i cracked my tooth but nothing fell off, what should i do? Veneers or Crowns?

Last week i hit my tooth playing a sport. it cracked in 3 places, but nothing fell off. I had pain and it was loose for the first 2 days and now i have no pain, and the looseness is gradually tightening. I have perfect teeth and i am worried that eventually the cracks would get bigger through time and it would fall off. It is my front tooth. I am going to see several cosmetic dental surgeons, however i would like to know from people who have had this experience before what to do? If necessary should i consider veneers or dental crowns? i have a very nice smile and i am very concerned...

DEPENDING ON THE CRACKS, VENEERS MAY BE INDICATED.

IN COSMETIC DENTISTRY THERE IS A RULE OF 2,4,6, ETC. WHAT THIS MEANS IS THAT YOU ONLY SEE CRACKS IN ONE, YOU WILL LOOK BETTER IN THIS CASE TO HAVE BOTH FRONT TEETH VENEERED.
Reply:Such situations like yours with cracked tooth are tricky to tell without physical exam. You may opt for veneers to start with. But it would be known at the time of tooth preparation whether you may have to settle for crown as it covers from all sides.
Reply:I think price wise your looking about the same for both. I talked to my dentist recently about veneers because the bottom of one of my front teeth chipped. He said he would recommend veneers, but he would advise I do both front teeth, not just the one. So you might need to fix both, so they look the same. But it also depends on your teeth I guess.
