How long do crowns last?

I have one 30 years old, its fine, but may not have dental insurance much longer. Should I have it replaced while I still have insurance?

How long do crowns last?
I've seen crowns last over 50 years with no problems. If you have a low caries index [no cavities in a long time] then you can expect your crown to last and last....especially if it's gold.
Reply:You need to talk to your dentist and have him take a look at it. It's like anything else, depends on how well it was made, what it was made out of, and how well you take care of it.
