I'm just curious, do they exist? Do they stand up as well yellow gold crowns? Where is a lab that makes them? I may be needing a crown soon on one of my back teeth. I just think white gold looks better/doesn't stand out as much.
Do white gold dental crowns exist? Where can I get one?
Yes, white gold exists for dental crowns. They are every bit as good as yellow gold crowns. It's just a slightly different alloy. Talk to your dentist, and he can make sure his lab has the alloy available. Gold crowns (white or yellow) interact very well with natural teeth because the alloy is smooth and of similar hardness to natural teeth. I always prefer gold crowns for the very back teeth where there is little room for the thickness of porcelain.
Personally, I think the white gold will just look like a big silver filling, and look cheap. People associate yellow gold in the mouth with expensive treatment. So your friends might not realise that you've got white gold.
Reply:Check with your dentist, his lab may do it....also...there are so many newer titanium based materials....very hard!! and tooth colored, with a white metal underlay......
Reply:THERE ARE NO SUCH THING AS WHITE GOLD CROWNS OR ANY THERE ARE SILVER AND PROC-ELIN BUT NO REAL GOLD..SWEETY ... AND BESIDES THAT WILL LOOK KIND OF TACKY IF YOU JUST ONE WHITE GOLD TOOTH..OR CROWN
Reply:there are porcelain, gold and silver. all white gold is gold dipped in rodium plating so no there isnt any
Reply:Just ask your dentist. A guy at my job just got one so Yes, they do exist.
