Can we design dental crowns for our dentist?

My friend has 10 upper dental crowns and the rest of the teeth are natural. He does not like the dental crowns. They look too straight and white. So it looks fake....

My friend saw some natural teeth's shape that he likes. Can he bring the pictures of the natural teeth that he used to have to the dentist. And the dentist prepares the dental crowns following to the shape and shade of the natural teeth of somebody else?

Yes it can be done. You will need to discuss with your dentist exactly what you are looking for. You may also want to discuss how appropriate various types of crowns may be - alternatives to the traditional porcelain fused to metal (PFM) may be preferable with anterior teeth. These alternatives were not available in the past but now provide a more aesthetically pleasing result in anterior teeth. Your dentist may need to take impressions for study models so that both he and the dental laboratory can examine your dentition and plan how best to achieve the results you are looking for. Some dentists may also have a computer program to simulate the end result. Also you can ask for custom shading of the crowns where either you go to the lab and the colours are customized while you are there or in some instances the lab will come to the dentist office and bring a kiln and customize the shading there. All this may add some to the final cost but you will be satisfied with the result.
Reply:if you're paying then sure, why not their your teeth. Cost a little extra though
