Why do most dentists take credit for crowns and other?

cosmedic procedures. A dental tecnician is the one that makes the restoration. Most patients don't seem to know that. So to you dentist out there I would like to know.

Why do most dentists take credit for crowns and other?
i give mad props to my lab tech. he's the artist.

i take the cedit because i'm smarter, more talented, more educated, work harder, stress over your pain, took the financial risk just to put up with your a$$, and most importantly, have the resposiblity not to make a mistake that ends in your death.
Reply:Tom you are the biggest dumba@s! For such a educated man you sure are a s_hitty speller! Report Abuse

Reply:Hmmmm, so when a mechanic fixes your car you thank the company that made the parts????
Reply:The tech makes the restoration on the prescription of the dentist. Without the licensed dentist to prepare the tooth and insert the restoration, the technician would have no job in the first place. It's up to ME to tell the tech exactly what I want and then I hope they interpret it the way I meant it.

Having said that, I give the technician all due credit when things are right. They share the blame when things are wrong, too. When the patient asks why they have to wait 3 weeks for their new crown, I tell them that it has to be sent to the lab to be made just for them.
