What is the difference between crowns and veneers?

Veneers fit onto anterior teeth (front) mostly on incisors. Crowns cover the entire tooth, especially after a rct (root canal). When you think of veneers, just think about acrylic tips on nails, they just cover the one surface and are mainly for esthetic purposes. Crowns are actually placed to serve a functional purpose; most of the materials they use are strong enough to withstand the forces of mastication (chewing). Veneers are also strong, but may come off if there is too much stress placed on then, mostly from compressional forces. Hope this helps!!

What is the difference between crowns and veneers?
Crowns go around the whole tooth and veneers covers only the front surface. However, many of the veneers done these days do aggressive tooth reduction for strength(of the veneer) and appearance. Oftentimes so much tooth is removed in either case that it significantly lowers the strength of the tooth. If the tooth flexes, it'll pop off a crown or a veneer.
Reply:I think crowns are on your molars. And veneers are on your other teeth.
