How much do tooth crowns usually cost?

Just wondering how much crowns cost for your teeth.

I live in the UK and would just like a rough guideline to go on.

Also, how long do they last?

thanks,

Tom.

if the crown in provided on the nhs the current cost is £194 for one crown or ten.

However not many dental practices are taking on patients on the nhs.

Also if your are taken on as a nhs patient but the crown is for appearance purposes, they will charge you privately as the nhs wont fund this.

The cost of a private crown can vary from £200 each upto roughly £800 dependant on what quality crown is used, content of the crown makeup, lab fees and the practice you attend.

As for how long the crown will last each one is individual, depends on why the crown is there and the strenght of the tooth substance underneath. They tell you to expect about 7yrs.They say if you get ten years+ then its definately done its job. Ive known some crowns last 1 yr and some last more then 35!
Reply:In the US, from $750.00 to $1000.00 per tooth. Depending on the dentist. If done properly they can last up to 20 years.
Reply:Without benifits, around £1000. On benifits, a white crown £150-£200, a silver crown free. They should last at least 20 years.
Reply:My Dad's crowns cost anywhere from $600 - 1000 US. Each.

My Dad has had some crowns for more than 25 years and others broke down after only 5 or 6. There are several factors including whether you grind your teeth (he does sometimes), the person putting them in and the quality of the crown.
Reply:ABOUT £100 IF U WATCH UR DIET THEY CAN LAST ABOUT 10-20YRS SOMETIMES LONGER
Reply:i've had a front tooth crown in for 25 years. can't remember how much it cost. but while the colour matched when it was fitted, it's a lot lighter than my other teeth now.

recently i had a molar tooth replaced with a crown. a silver/'gold' one would have cost £189, but i had a white one fitted for £280. 20 years is a good lifespan for a crown.
Reply:I think it is about £200 for a gold one. You may get it cheaper but ask what the metal content is. If they say they don't know then its a cheapie one imported and will have all sorts in it. I read that in The Daily Mail the other week. A great paper-reports all the sneaky things this government is up to.
Reply:I have just had to buy a new front crown. Private, as I cannot get an NHS dentist. It cost £210. Phew.
Reply:Around £1,000 - should last about 25 years.
Reply:About £300 for a white one. Done privately. I have 2. They last for years and years. Just don't go to Jewel's dentist!!
