When I eat with my 2 new crowns there is a lot of discomfort. Why?

I just had 2 crowns put on my upper teeth( 1 on each side) and they feel fine as long as I am not eating. When I chew the food feels like it is getting stuck on the crowns and I feel pressure on my gums. I've had crowns before and never experienced this problem. The dentist says they will feel fine after I get used to them but this was over a week ago and they still fell the same. What is the problem and how can it be remedied?

My dentist was able to help me understand the crowns procedure clearly to me. They should be able to answer your questions. If you can't find a dentist that can help, try finding one here: http://www.addictionselfhelp.com

Reply:if after a week you are having discomfort then you must visit the dentist. some times they are bit high or the adjustment is not proper. your dentist can do the minor adjustmets and then they will be fine. for more information on crowns you can visit the following link

further they have the facility for free dental consultation by the dentist
Reply:Assuming you are talking about the same crown, there's something wrong.

That's the reason we use temporary cements!

when the height and the shape are not proper, you'll feel discomfort while chewing.

See whether your gum bleaches when you put your teeth together. That's one way to find out it doesn't fit well. It should be corrected and it is not something to get used to. oh and check if the top surface is smooth.
