I got two new crowns on Thursday and my mouth really hurts! How much longer will it hurt? What can help?

It hurts way up in my cheekbone and I think they had to put a post in one of my teeth to attach one of the crowns to it.

try putting a heating pad on your jaw. that might sooth you. It will probably take a few days for the pain to go away, did they give you any pain killers?
Reply:Something isn't right. You should not be experiencing pain to that extent after having new crowns done. I had two wisdom teeth and two molars cut out on Wednesday and was back to work on Friday. I also have had crowns done and had only a minimum of discomfort for the first 24 hours. Sounds like you have an exposed nerve/s.
Reply:Felt better in a week, but it took about a month to get used to my crowns.





Tylenol helped. So did laying a hot water bottle next to my face.





I always feel miserable for a few hours after going to the dentist. Sometimes I get a headache. The dentist said it's fairly common. Who lays around with their mouth wide open for 20 or more minutes.?
