I have been having crown problems for a whle and i was wondering is there a type of glue that hey dont use on like younger people getting crowns? Because I got mine (first time) Back in Noveber of 2006 and it broke off in febuary then I got it again and it bre off May again!! Is it because im yung and still growing? Or am i just cursed.
What types of glue (or cement are used to keep Crowns on teeth and what is the strongest?
no you arent cursed, if they have rely x at the detist office ask for that..that is the strongest or keytec is another strong cement...but yes it may be because you are young and still growing...and that is why they wont cement it with a stronger cement...you are absolutely right:)things you can do is try to chew on other side when eating sticky foods ex.bread(yes this is sticky, took off my crown eating a hero) try chewing gum on other side stuff like that when you can...its annoying trust me i have crowns i know once you get a little older im sure it wont be thins annoying...another thing you can do is ask your dentist the reason that the cement isnt working, does the crown feel smooth, glass like(real crown) or a little rough(temporary) they may have made you a temp until you get a little older so ask about that as well...maybe they can provide you with an explaination as well...good luck:)
Reply:HELLO,
THERE ARE VERY STRONG CEMENTS FOR PERMANENT CROWNS. W/O KNOWING WHAT YOUR DENTIST DID FOR YOU AND YOUR TOOTH EXACTLY I CANNOT COMMENT.
Reply:growing is not a cause for a crown to fall
either you have very short teeth or the crown is not fitting in place
there is a lot of cements but the most power full is resin based cement
then comes the glass ionomer type cements
Reply:It sounds like a temporary crown. Is it silver? If you are less than 18 many dentists will wait to put a permanent crown on because your teeth are still erupting. If you put a permanent crown on too soon, later in life it looks like the tooth is wearing a bikini. Not enough crown to cover all the tooth..lol. If it is coming off you probably clench your teeth at night and that can loosen the cement. See if they are using permanent type cement and if not ask them too.
