Money is tight and I don't need a more expensive crown for a tooth that won't be seen anyway.
What are my options in crowns and their relative expense?
I would agree with the dentist! A full-gold crown is your best bet. They fit more accurately and they are better for your opposing teeth.
Reply:Hi, I'm a dentist.
Most dentists charge about the same thing for most types of crowns. If you don't care what it looks like, get a full coverage gold crown. They are proven to have the best margins and the best biocompatibility.
I hope that helps.

Is it possible to get/buy the cardboard Burger King crowns in bulk?
Do they still make these? I remember them as a kid, but I haven't been in so long. We have a company event coming up for Medieval Times and want our group to wear the crowns!
Is it possible to get/buy the cardboard Burger King crowns in bulk?
I haven't seen them in awhile. Try asking at a local Burger King to see if they carry them anymore or what supplier they use/used.

Should I get a row of cosmetic crowns?
I don't like my teeth and am self conscious when I smile. I would need 8 crowns. My dentist says these are the only option braces really wouldn't help. Thew only downside he states is breakage.
How fragile are these fake teeth? Have you ever broken a crown eating? Anything I should consider as I make this decision? THANKS!
Should I get a row of cosmetic crowns?
Yes. Picture looking at yourself in the mirror every day, knowing how much food that $8000 would buy in Darfur.

What are three gifts from the Nile River to the Egyptians? Any pictures about three crowns of ancient Egypt?
For my school project I need to know this plus Information about 3 crowns of ancient Egypt both upper and lower Egypt.
What are three gifts from the Nile River to the Egyptians? Any pictures about three crowns of ancient Egypt?
- Water for irrigation.
- Dark fertile soil brought with the water.
- Gave people the reason to settle then learn to plant, read and write, form a calendar, watch the stars etc.
The white conic crown was the southern crown. The red crown was for the north. The double crown was formed by putting them together symbolic of the unification of the north and the south.

When I eat with my 2 new crowns there is a lot of discomfort. Why?
I just had 2 crowns put on my upper teeth( 1 on each side) and they feel fine as long as I am not eating. When I chew the food feels like it is getting stuck on the crowns and I feel pressure on my gums. I've had crowns before and never experienced this problem. The dentist says they will feel fine after I get used to them but this was over a week ago and they still fell the same. What is the problem and how can it be remedied?
When I eat with my 2 new crowns there is a lot of discomfort. Why?
My dentist was able to help me understand the crowns procedure clearly to me. They should be able to answer your questions. If you can't find a dentist that can help, try finding one here: http://www.addictionselfhelp.com

That's the reason we use temporary cements!
when the height and the shape are not proper, you'll feel discomfort while chewing.
See whether your gum bleaches when you put your teeth together. That's one way to find out it doesn't fit well. It should be corrected and it is not something to get used to. oh and check if the top surface is smooth.

How long to put on crowns?
I recently got temporary crowns for 2 teeth side by side put on. I have to go back in a couple weeks to get the permanent crowns put on. But the earliest I can schedule the appointment is the day I go back to college. How long does this procedure take? I just need to put 2 permanent crowns on. They already did the sizing, etc.
How long to put on crowns?
The longest it should take is approximately 30 minutes. They will need to take off your temporary crowns, which only takes them a few seconds. Then, they will wipe off any leftover residue, and fit you with your new crowns. They will cement them in, and make sure you have a good bite and everything. Like I said..if there's no problem with them it shouldn't take any longer than 30 minutes (if that long). Good luck!

I have to get 2 crowns on the furthest molars back. Is there a difference in the types and longevity?
I have to get 2 crowns on the furthest back lower molars. Is there a difference in what they're made of? Why did these teeth start to crack in the first place? Does this happen with age? I've never had root canals ...are they painful? How long are you in the chair?
ARRGGHH....I hate going to the dentist, but I faithfully go twice a year, and all of a sudden these 2 teeth decided to break off little chunks. Thanks in advance for your help.
I have to get 2 crowns on the furthest molars back. Is there a difference in the types and longevity?
The jaw is a class II lever, kinda like a nutcracker, the further an object/tooth is toward the hinge (tmj or jaw joint), the greater the force it recieves.
So to make a long lecture short : ), the last teeth in the arch get the most force on them and are more likely for fracture. The mircrofactures happen with time/nocturnal clenching/ etc...
What do we do as dentist: a full crown is recommended. I prefer full METAL crowns for those areas since they require the least amount of tooth structure reduction/preparation and provide the best strength. Given the right circumstances, you may be a candidate for a porclein crown (tooth colored crown) but you'll have to ask your dentist.
The crown prepartion procedure takes about an hour and you may or may not need a root canal additionally. Your dentist will tell you.

Reply:I have had the best luck with my gold crown. It was not much more expensive than the other types of metal. I had gone through a couple of other types before getting the gold. The other ones broke and/or came off. The only painful part about root canals, in my experience, is the shots to get numb... and then, afterwards the site where the shots were given along with where the rubber dam had been placed. It can take a couple of hours...depends on your roots. I usually take a nap during the procedure. It was not nearly as bad as I had imagined it would be.
Relax and make sure you let the Dentist know if you are feeling any pain so that they can get you properly numb.
Reply:Consider gold crowns for the very back teeth. They are only slightly more expensive, but they are also more durable. They won't affect your smile since they're your back teeth. If you have to have root canals, they aren't very pleasant, but a good dentist should be able to make you comfortable. There are some dentists that offer services while you're "out," which is a good option for folks with anxiety
Reply:Only your dentist can tell you which type of crown will be best for you, depending on your bite. Usually an all gold crown or a Porcelain fused to a metal sub-structure is what is recommended. They're no way of us knowing why you need these crowns without x-rays or seeing the inside of your mouth. It is usually caused by decay or if you've had large fillings placed in these teeth. Crowns aren't that painful. You will be sore for a few days, but nothing Ibuprofen can't fix. If you are doing both crowns at once, you'll probably be in the chair for a couple of hours. Hope this answers your questions; good luck.

The root canals made my mouth sore for a little while after but I didn't feel a thing when they were being done .Try thinking of something else when you are in the chair.

How are temporary crowns removed without pulling the residual tooth?
I have to return for the perm crown and am concerned about the procedure. How is the permanent crown 'adjusted' so that it 'fits' okay? Can the dentist shave or shape it somehow? For instance the temp crown is not allowing me to floss bwt. the teeth but I want the permanent to allow me to do that. Also, should I ask him to take an x-ray before putting on the perm or can he do that afterward to monitor the remaining tooth and pulp underneath? Thanks for any info.
How are temporary crowns removed without pulling the residual tooth?
A temporary crown is glued in with a temporary cement (sort of glue). The temporary crown can usually easily be removed by wiggling it off with an instrument. The dentist has asked you not to floss the tooth because the temp crown could come off. The permanent crown is cemented permanantly (permanant glue). You should be able to floss the tooth normally with the permanant crown. The dentist may have to adjust the crown to the correct bite by shaping/shaving a little on the outside.

Reply:there is only so much adjustment a dentist can make, but he'll use a hand-piece "the drill", to do make the adjustments, he'll have you bite down on a piece of articulating paper, to make sure there are no "high-spots", he'll floss between the crown and the adjacent, to make sure the contacts between the teeth are good. He should take an x-ray before he cements the crown with permanent cement, because there is only the eye can see, hope this helped.
Reply:The temporary crown is not really adjusted or molded to fit your teeth perfectly. It is basically there to hold the spot for your permanent crown and keep what's under there safe. Your dentist will shave or file the tooth down if it doesn't fit you perfectly. The temporary crown isn't put on your existing tooth structure with the same cement/glue the permanent one will be put on with. He will use the bite paper to make sure your teeth (top or bottom) are hitting naturally.

I got two new crowns on Thursday and my mouth really hurts! How much longer will it hurt? What can help?
It hurts way up in my cheekbone and I think they had to put a post in one of my teeth to attach one of the crowns to it.
I got two new crowns on Thursday and my mouth really hurts! How much longer will it hurt? What can help?
try putting a heating pad on your jaw. that might sooth you. It will probably take a few days for the pain to go away, did they give you any pain killers?
Reply:Something isn't right. You should not be experiencing pain to that extent after having new crowns done. I had two wisdom teeth and two molars cut out on Wednesday and was back to work on Friday. I also have had crowns done and had only a minimum of discomfort for the first 24 hours. Sounds like you have an exposed nerve/s.
Reply:Felt better in a week, but it took about a month to get used to my crowns.
Tylenol helped. So did laying a hot water bottle next to my face.
I always feel miserable for a few hours after going to the dentist. Sometimes I get a headache. The dentist said it's fairly common. Who lays around with their mouth wide open for 20 or more minutes.?

What is average amount of crowns a 52 year old person will have?
Plus, my husband says a crown is pretty much a "fake" tooth; but I say it is still part of your natural tooth, despite being honed down to a peg to support the crown. Thanks for your answers.
What is average amount of crowns a 52 year old person will have?
a crown is an reinforced enamel. When your natural enamel has worn off, the dentist places a crown to prevent further wearing away of your tooth to cause sensitivity %26amp; pain. Crowns are place after root cannal treatment to prevent the crown from braking up.
Depends on each person how many crowns he needs.

crowns are like breast implants.. they look and feel nice, but they are as fake as kwanzaa claus
Reply:depends on the person's history of preventive dentistry, fluoridation of water when a child, etc. i'm 46 and have 3 crowns (2 had to have root canals before they were crowned). some people by their sixties may have 10 or more. it's better to get a crown so your bite and facial profile don't suffer.
Reply:A crown is a fake tooth.
Its a cover that sits over the filed down stump of your old tooth - which no longer looks like a tooth - to make it look like a tooth.
Hence - fake tooth.
How many ? Depends on genetics, hygiene, diet etc
Reply:I would say maybe 4, after that you might as well have dentures. Yes crowns are stil your teeth, they are your real tooth drilled down to stumps and a crown put over them.
Reply:a lot
Reply:I was trying to remember how many I had when I was 52! I think it depends on how good your teeth are. I had poor teeth, soft enamel, grew up on nonfloridated water and raw milk(farm kid) and no dental care til I got my "grown-up" teeth. My DH on the other hand had very good teeth til he reached his"golden years", then his problems started. He now has 4 crowns, all 4 required root canals.

Had to get a temporay crown today and did not want to choose to have a metal like gold or alumina in my mouth so went the zirconium and now read on the internet some zirconium powders have low level radioactivity and this was on a page re: crowns. Have they found a way to eliminate this aspect with the zirconium inlayed dental crowns now somehow? Any helpful info appreciated.

Are porcelain veneers or crowns right for me?
I have chipped teeth, some of which are starting to turn and the enamel is turning see through! I grind and clench my teeth very badly and am getting a night guard which will hopefully help. I am unsure whether to get veneers as I am a teeth grinder, so are crowns better for me?
Are porcelain veneers or crowns right for me?
Using porcelain veneers should be simultaneous with managing your clenching habit as porcelain is harder than enamel so opposing teeth to porcelain will suffer attrition (wear away), for more details contact me as ahmadhashem41 at yahoo
Reply:before getting any treatment for the chipped teeth get a night guard. in your case crowns will be better option than the as veneers tends to come out. for more information on crowns you can visit the folowing link

Where can you find fairy wands and princess crowns?
I am having my 13th birthday party and the theme is Disney princess and fairies. For the first activity, everyone is going to decorate a wand (if they are assigned a fairy) or crown (if they are assigned a princess). I need plastic un-glittered wands and plastic princess crowns. How much to replace old crowns?
I got 3 crowns on my front teeth 13 years ago and they are now in a bad state and need a replacement.
How much can i expect to pay per tooth and private here in the UK ? Do they charge the same regardless if its a work on a tooth which needs reshaping etc or a tooth which has been reshaped before and just needs a new crown? Thanks!

Is it worth spending a lot more on private dental crowns rather than NHS ones?
: I need two crowns replaced. My dentist has recommended I spend nearly £800 on two private crowns rather than £195 on the NHS ones. As far as I understand, the private ones and the NHS ones would both be metal and porcelain, but made at different laboratories. He said that the private one would be better quality. I'm happy to spend the money if it's worth it, but I'd rather have a holiday! Can the difference really be that much?

Ah, the joys of social medicine. It seems that all is not free and great. You really do get what you pay for.
Ask your doc what the difference is. Appearance, durability or both? The private crowns better be far and above tops on both counts for that kind of cash. You might consider the cheaper now, take the vacation, and start saving for new crowns in a year or three.

Why have no crowns of the pharaohs ever been found?
I know tombs were robbed but no crowns survive.
King Tus tomb was undisturbed and still no crowns were found?
Why have no crowns of the pharaohs ever been found?
Some answers are just plain wrong here because they interpret 'crown' as a golden circle worn as headgear. In fact the laurel wreath used in classical Rome was a crown, let alone the ornate headgear the pharaohs wore which can be seen on their tomb paintings and statues.
Perhaps the crown was passed on from one ruler to the next as suggested by others. They certainly existed.
Reply:because they never wore any as crowns and tiaras weren't invented then. only the romans had crowns and these were known as laurels or wreaths they were either natural or makde from gold leaf and these were worn by roman emperors..
any way the egyptian phoroahs and queens they had wigs because they were bald they just had masks wigs and ornamnetaql head dresses.etc some of which were found buried with then in their tombs including their jewloery necklaces and robes.
Reply:because they didnt wear them
Reply:I think they weren't buried with their crowns. Kings and queens nowadays aren't buried with them either, right?
Reply:Unlike European traditions, Pharaohs didn't wear crowns. The crown or even the circlet harkens back to Judeo-Christian lore of halos for divine beings. (the shiny metal band around the head, the area of enlightenment, symbolizes this)
Or, historians believe the crown tradition is a Roman thing. Think of Julius Caesar. What do you see? That green leafy thing bound around his head, right? The Grass Crown, or Blockade Crown; (in Latin, corona obsidionalis or corona graminea) was the highest and rarest of all military decorations. It was presented only to a general, or commander who broke the blockade of a beleaguered Roman army.
As you can see, every culture has their own holy headgear. In Egypt, priests work hats that were tall and oblong (kind of like bowling pins) while the rulers wore whatever they thought was stylin'. Rameses II wore a headdress similar to the hood of a cobra while Amenemopet wore a hat that had a large bronze disc encricled by feathers (a symbol of Horus).
So where is the "crowns"? Grave robbed, put in a museum, or melted down by merchants to be made into something else (remember, the pyramids of Giza used to have fine white walls, but locals chipped that away to make their own houses, so recycling isn't out of the question there)
Reply:Egyptian pharoahs didn't wear crowns. They wore headdresses, kind of like the Native American cheifs.
Reply:They didn't have crowns they just had alot of gold and jewels.....................................
Reply:First, Tutankhamen's tomb was not entirely undisturbed. The tomb was entered by robbers not long after his burial, but it appears that they were caught as not a great deal was missing, though a few items were disturbed, and it is clear that the tomb was resealed by the chief of the necropolis.
The most likely explanation for the absence of the double crown of Upper and Lower Egypt (red and white crowns), as well as separate depictons of the other common royal crowns, such as the blue war crown, the atef crown, or a nemes headdress (though one is depicted on Tut's coffins) is that they were part of the formal royal regalia and part of the office of king, rather than a personal possession of an individual who happened to be king. The crowns symbolized the two parts of the country being united under the office of the king, and for this reason may have been maintained and passed from king to king for as long as a particular crown lasted. This is borne out by various religious text that discuss the crowns.
There is also the possibility that Tutankhamun's burial was an anomaly in not including the formal crowns. As no other roughly contemporary intact burial of an Egyptian king exists and the only other semi-intact burials of Egyptian kings date to the much later Saite period, we have no way of knowing for sure why the crowns were not included or whether it was typical for them not be included. Given the somewhat unusual political situation immediately preceeding Tutankhamun's succession to the throne and the unusual political situation following his demise, during which a commoner took the throne of Egypt, there is the slight possibility that the crowns were not included because Tut's successor, Aye, hoped that they would legitimize his own reign by being linked to the last legitimate ruler of the old royal family.
Another potential explanation may lie in Egyptian theology. The underworld was ruled by Osiris. Egyptian cosmology insisted that there was only one king (nsyt), ever, on earth. In texts discussing other "kings" of other countries, including diplomatic correspondence with countries as or more powerful than Egypt, a different Egyptian term is used to refer to those kings. Even during the Intermediate periods when Egypt was fragmented into essentially petty kingdoms, it was quite rare for anyone to declare themselves "king" without having unified a large portion of the country and especially if a member of the old legitimate royal family was around, no matter how weak in actuality that supposed "king" was.The same situation may have held for the underworld, where Osiris ruled. It may have been considered inappropriate for more than one "king" to be in the Underworld, and as the deceased "became" Osiris, it's also possible that it was thought that the formal regalia would prove unnecessary. The complexities of Egyptian religious thought make it difficult to elaborate on this theory here, but it is worth bearing in mind.

Reply:I don't think they wore crowns. They had those groovy wigs and headdresses.
But maybe when a king died they took the headdress and passed it on to the next one, or reworked it or something. Maybe the crown was a symbol that didn't 'belong' to anyone in particular. Like Queen Elizabeth wears the crown of England, but she sure won't be taking it to the grave with her.

I had 4 temp crowns put on my front top teeth, question about how long appointment will be?
The appointment for the temp crowns took like 3 hrs, how long will the perm ones take to put on? Is it easier for the perm ones?
I had 4 temp crowns put on my front top teeth, question about how long appointment will be?
permanent crowns are way faster! i have two and when i went to get them it only took about 15 min each. unless my dentist is super fast and efficient lol it shouldn't take that long. but it def is faster than the temp ones.
Reply:What they will do is take of the temp crowns and then rinse and clean off the teeth and then put on the new ones and adjust them before glueing them on.
Reply:yes, because they just pull them off, rinse the tooth and glue on the new ones, then adjust your bite, probably 20-30 mins per so a 2 hour appt or less

Any opinion on a dentist that uses a lab to model front crowns vs. one that does it himslef?
Is one necessarily better than the other? My regular dentist sent off to a lab to make a model of my teeth with crowns, and another one says he does that work up himself whose main practice is cosmetic dentistry.
I dont know which is a superior method.
I dont know if this is another way to judge or not, but my regular dentist's office is always really busy and the cosmetic one wasnt only one person in there when I went. He spent almost an hour talking to me about it, where my regular dentist is really busy and doesnt spend a lot of time explaining it but you can write him an email.
Also at my regular dentist I had my 2 cavities filled and when I was at this cosmetic one he said I had several. I dont know who to believe on that.
Questions thoughts comments? I just want to make sure I have the right dentist do the crowns in the front of my mouth.

This is the age of specialization. Most dentists don't want to make crowns, they want to send them off to a lab where someone makes them all day and has been doing it for years and years. A dentist has enough skills to learn!
A dentist who specializes in cosmetic dentistry might make his own crowns, especially in the front, because that's related to his specialty.
I lost some front teeth in a motorcycle accident years ago. My dentist (who is a GREAT dentist!) sent the crowns out. I was worried that they might look artificial because I've seen people with false teeth that I thought looked artificial (like really old people with big perfect shiny white teeth in front). But when they came they looked very natural! In fact they are nicer than -real- teeth!
Reply:My mothers dentist did that recently also, took impressions of her teeth and sent them to the lab so they can make a mold...many dentists do that....I prefer that, than its quicker...it doesnt make one dentist better than the other....thats pretty much all the dentists I have dealt with in the past do......
As far as your dentist not having time to talk to you!!! thats not good, and they should at least give you some time to ask any questions, regarding your concerns which would be normal.....I know some offices are super busy but thats no excuse, you are a patient too....
As far as the cavities, did your dentist take x-rays? or were these cavities you had before and were do for another filling?
Did the cosmetic dentist, take x-rays to determine you had several cavities? besides, your primary dentist would have all the x-rays of your mouth. Stick with one doctor, so there are no confusions........If you are NOT happy with someone's services, than you should consider another dentist....there are many great dentists out there and that would at least talk to you after a visit and answers any questions or concerns you may have.......if they are to busy for you, than you should go elsewhere.....

Do steel crowns on kids have to be replaced with porcelain?
The dentist says that all the steel crowns have to be replaced on my 15 year old twins. (I say if it isn't broke, don't fix it.) But they say that it messes up their gums. Is that true? Should I let them do it? Should I wait until they are older?
Do steel crowns on kids have to be replaced with porcelain?
What they are saying is true.
Are the stainless steel crowns on baby teeth? Or permanent teeth?
The stainless steel is USUALLY only used on baby teeth, therefore once the tooth exfoliates, the crown is gone. But if it was done on a permanent tooth, the porcelain crown should be done.
It can be an irritant to your childrens gums. Also, the stainless steel crowns are not as strong/permanent. They will eventually decay and break off, and may result in the loss of that tooth down the road. Its best to fix it now, in order to save the heartache later.
To the poster below me - it is AMALGAM you are talking about - the metal fillings. That isn't what she is asking about. A metal filling and steel crown are too different things.
Reply:Replacing an amalgamate filling with porcelain sounds like cosmetic reason to me. Amalgamates last MUCH longer than porcelain. Decades, even..
Get a second opinion if possible. Dentists have a nasty habit of replacing unnecessary filling because it's fast and easy, but they paid tons of money for it.

How many dental crowns do average people have?
I am 39 and have 3 crowns. What is typical for my age? What is typical for older ages?
How many dental crowns do average people have?
I'm 31 and have none...does that help? Thought not! How long is a piece of string or how tall is a China-man...we're all different. Cosmetically, it depends on how out of line your teeth are vs. how much spare cash you have. Restoratively, it depends upon how broken down your teeth are. Finally, it depends upon whether your dentist is taking you for a ride and crowning teeth that don't need crowning!

Fellow Christians, according to scripture, what are the crowns that we may receive?
What are the crowns that we may receive at The Judgment when we stand before Christ. Paul talks about pressing toward the mark, and that there are heavenly crowns, that we may gain. I'd like to know which crowns are mentioned according to scripture, and could you please list where the verses are found in the Bible? Thank you.
Fellow Christians, according to scripture, what are the crowns that we may receive?
1) Incorruptible crown %26lt;I Cor. 9:25-27%26gt;
overcome flesh
2) Life %26lt;Rev. 2:10%26gt;
those who are willing to give their life for Christ.
3) Righteousness %26lt;2 Tim. 4:8%26gt;
look for His coming
4) Glory %26lt;I Peter 5:2-4%26gt;
faithful teachers
5) Rejoicing %26lt;I Thess. 2:19, 20%26gt;
faithful witnesses
And we are told BY THE LORD JESUS to go for the crowns. So for someone to say "it shouldn't be about the crowns", is grossly inaccurate. Jesus said to go for as many crowns as we can, the crowns are so very worth having! :)
Reply:The answer is in the Book Of Revelation as the elders cast crowns before God's throne/ They are for suffering of various kinds that many face in life. The 24 elders set an example of praise and worship in Revelation that gives God the glory for all the efforts we accomplish through. Worthy is the Lamb.
In Revelations 4:4And round about the throne were four and twenty seats(24): and upon the seats I saw four four and twenty elders(24) sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold. And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices; and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. In verse 4:10 the elders worshipped god and cast the crowns at God's feet.
Other passages of the bible tell exactly why the crowns will be given to each suffering believer.
These are in effect some rewards that some fail to understand.
Reply:Romans 8:17 says we can become joint-heirs or co-heirs with Christ.
Define it how you will.

Where do you look for information on making metal crowns?
I am interested in learning how to make crowns for a hobby. Does anyone know where I look up the information on getting started?
Where do you look for information on making metal crowns?
no, but i would think first to go to

the SCA
because they do the royalty thing at renaissance festivals
and medieval fairs and they would need metal crowns.
someone has to make them. they specialize in that sort of thing.

What to do with lots of broccoli crowns?
Don't know what possessed me to buy a large (Costco) bag of bite-size broccoli crowns, but I have them now. Any ideas on what I should do with them? How can I incorporate them into a Thanksgiving meal? Any good broccoli recipes out there? Thanks
What to do with lots of broccoli crowns?
1. Broccoli with just some salt and butter. Basic but great!
2. Broccoli casserole - (par boiled) egg noodles, cream of 'something soup' (whatever you like, cream of chicken, mushroom, etc), broccoli, maybe some carrots. Season with salt, pepper, season all, put in dish, sprinkle bread crumbs, bake for 40 minutes at 375. Yummy.
3. Eat it with dip - ranch dip, hummus, etc.
4. Broccoli in a Blanket! - buy pillsbury crescent rolls, wrap a roll around each stalk. bake at 375 for 12 minutes
5. Broccoli and Cheese over Rice
6. Beef/Chicken/Shrimp -n Broccoli- Chinese style. Just buy the cooking oil/sauce and the meat and stirfry on medium for like 20 mins (meat should already be cooked)
7. Put on top of a baked potato
8. Put on your pizza
9. Flour them, fry them, dip them in ranch sauce -
Enjoy!

Reply:I love raw broccoli salad. Finely chop the florets and put in a bowl with a handful or two of raisins (golden are best, but any will do), a couple of strips of bacon, chopped or crumbled and 1/2 a red onion, diced. Then, make a dressing with about a cup of mayonnaise, 1/4 cup red wine vinegar and 1/4 cup sugar. Mix this dressing well and pour over the salad. Let sit for a few hours at least, before serving. It's one of my favorite side dishes :) Good luck!
Reply:"Creamy Broccoli and Cheese" - 4 servings
1 (1 oz.) packet Hidden Valley Original Ranch Dressing Mix
8 oz. cream cheese
3/4 cup milk
1 lb. broccoli; cooked and drained
1/2 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
In blender container, combine dressing mix, cream cheese and milk. Pour over broccoli in 9" baking dish; stir well and top with cheese.
Bake at 350* - 25 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Reply:Broccoli Au Gratin.........use cheddar cheese soup as the base for the cheese sauce, steam the broccoli for about 5 minutes and place in a 9X13 casserole dish and pour the cheese sauce over, bake at 350F for 30 min, remove and add canned Frenches Onions to the top and a little shredded cheddar cheese and return to the oven for about 10-15 minutes, and then watch it disappear!!! If ya still have too much after T'Giving, make a big pot of Cream of Broccoli and Cheese Soup......very delicious......
Reply:Assuming they are raw, I love Broccoli Salad
Chop the crowns into individual small stalks that are a size for eating in a salad
Add:
2 slices crumbled cooked bacon
1 T white vinegar or other vinegar
1 cup mayo (reg or low fat or do 1/2 c sour cream and 1/2 cup mayo)
1/2 t salt
3/4 cup chopped onion, sweet or red
3/4 cup raisins, craisins or chopped dried Apricot
sunflower seeds, if desired
1 tsp sugar
Reply:The crowns make a really good broccoli casserole. Just mix them with a little milk, flour, salt and pepper. Put in a casserole dish, sprinkle with a generous amount of crumbled Ritz crackers and top that with sliced Velveeta. Bake at 400 degrees until bubbly, about 10-12 minutes.
Reply:Okay, I looked through the answers and didn't see this one, so here goes:
Cold broccoli salad.
Chop your broccoli into chunks, steam for about 15 mins.
In a medium pan, heat some olive oil, minced onion, garlic, oregano, parsley, salt and pepper. Cook until onion and garlic is transparent. Mix in strained broccoli chunks and cook until broccoli is tender, stirring often.
Remove from heat and place in bowl and refrigerate. When ready to serve, splash a small amount of vinegar on top and toss.
This is a good dish, and its not very common. It definetly adds some different flavor to your meal. And BTW, it is my mother in laws'. She's italian.
Reply:Make Broccoli Cheese Soup - as a starter course!
Add them to a breakfast quiche
Keep then Fozen - head outside and have a broccoli crown fight after dinner to wear off some of those calories you just ate!

If the florest aren't already, cut them into bite size pieces and blanche them in a steamer until bright green and a little tender, then put in ice water and drain. Saute a good handful of slivered almonds in about 1/4 cup of butter in a saucepan, when the almonds are just barely browning, squeeze some lemon juice into the pan. Add a dash of salt and pepper and toss the broccoli with this mixture just before serving. Simple and delicious. The rest of the broccoli you could use to make soup.

What to eat with temporary crowns in front?
I had temporary crowns placed on my top 3 front teeth yesterday. I know what the no-nos are, such as gum, carrots, etc. Problem is, I can't think of anything to eat besides Cream of Chicken soup, and I'm sick of that! Any tasty ideas? I'm thinking about buying some Stove Top stuffing and eating that for dinner.
What to eat with temporary crowns in front?
Hi,
Yes, stay away from carrots and gum, etc, and avoid apples, or chop them up into small pieces.
I had my six front teeth crowned/veneered and I cannot remember what I ate for the two weeks I had to wait for the crowns/veneers to be made.
I ate soft things, staying away from hard things. Although, I do remember eating pizza and swollowing one of my tempories!
The temporary crowns are cemented using a temporary cement, which makes it easier for the dentist to remove the crowns when you are having your permanent ones fitted. With it being a temporary cement, you have to be careful, as it isn't as strong as the permaent cement.
Stick with soft foods and stay away from hard and sticky foods, for example.
Keep smiling,
IC.

When you are getting crowns do they make your teeth thinner so they can insert the crown?
My four teeth in the front are small and a little chipped and I am going to get crowns. Are they still going to have to make them thinner to have the crowns inserted?
When you are getting crowns do they make your teeth thinner so they can insert the crown?
yes, because the crown is fitted over the entire tooth. first they make an inpression of the tooth, then they make a mold from the impression, then they have you comeback and they whittle your real tooth down and the adhere the crown to the whittled tooth.
Reply:Yes because the crown has to slip over the tooth into place.

Could you tell me the standard charges for root treatments and crowns?
Hi, could you tell me the standard charges for root treatments and crowns?
Also, I have heard that there is a maximum amount which will be charged for any NHS dental treatment. What is this maximum?
Is it possible to get a second opinion from another dentist?
Could you tell me the standard charges for root treatments and crowns?
1 you are lucky to get a NHS dentist!
2. ther is NO maximum charge for NHS work you pay for work done
2 your dentist is obliged to quote for each piece of work for you.
root work will cost between £100 and £200 depending on tooth
crowns will cost between £200 and £400 depending on crown and material.
Reply:Your dentist is obliged by law to tell you exactly what the NHS charges are, there are no standard charges for private treatment. If you want a shock go to a dental lab and ask them how much they charge a dentist to make a crown something like £40 I was told by my friend who makes dentures, then the dentist charges about 4-5 times as much.
Reply:expensive why pay for pain

How do I get rid of discoloration on the crowns of my teeth?
I use crest white strips so the front of my teeth are nice and white, but the tops/crowns and indents of my teeth are discolored. How do I remedy that?
How do I get rid of discoloration on the crowns of my teeth?
Try using dipping you tooth brush (with toothpaste on tooth brush) in your baking soda before you brush. This may not work right away, so give it some time before you notice a difference. Also if you smoke or drink coffee, either cut down or consider quitting.
Reply:I know wine and coffee doesn't help - I say this from experience. I've used the white strips also. Not sure they've really helped. Sometimes I mix hydrogene peroxide and water and rinse/keep in mouth for a few minutes. Flossing is essential, and so is professional cleaning every six months.
Reply:The gel in trays is usually more effective in reaching the entire tooth surface. You can compare these methods here: http://the-dental-makeover.com/whiten-te...
Reply:there is an affordable good working toothpaste called ''Blanx''
it is sold in all supermarkets,
get the blanx stain removal type
that one is a bronze tube
Reply:get professional whitening from the dentist if you can afford it
Reply:that's because crest white strips don't effectively whiten all of your teeth. i'd take a bit of a break from whitening (don't want to cause sensitivity) and then pick up a gel based product like simply white (which is super cheap - about $7-10). this will be able to get into the grooves and crevices much better than a flat strip. plus, it's good for maintaining whiter teeth.

Is there a way to tone down dental crowns that are too bright?
I have a bridge of 8 crowns/implants for which I chose the A1 colour. After having them for 3 months I realize that they look very fake because they're so bright. Is there a product that will 'tone them down'?
Is there a way to tone down dental crowns that are too bright?
Unless there have been technological advancements, unfortunately the only way you can tone down the brightness of your crowns is to get them replaced.
Reply:You could have the dentist send them back to the lab to change the shade, but since you already signed off on the shade, then you may have to pay the lab fees.

How long does it take gums to heal up after having temporary crowns put on?
Just had 2 temporary crowns put on %26amp; my gums are still bleeding %26amp; really sore. How many days until they heal? I'm afraid to brush around them.
How long does it take gums to heal up after having temporary crowns put on?
sometimes the acrylic the temporary crowns are made of can act like an irritant to the gums. This will go away once you get the permanent crowns. In the meantime, don't be afraid to keep them clean at the gumline, too much plaque can collect and then the gums won't heal. For now, take some gauze or a wet washcloth and gently wipe the area around the gums and necks of the teeth. After doing that for a few days they should be okay to carefully brush the gumline with a soft toothbrush and a gentle toothpaste like Sensodyne. The teeth may be a little sensitive to cold until you get the permanent crowns also, and that is normal, the temporary crowns don't seal the teeth as well as the pemanent ones will. Remember, keeping the acid in the plaque away from the gums will help them to heal. Good Luck.
Reply:Although they won't totally heal until after your crowns are placed, they should get better every day. Take whatever you usually do for pain and be sure to be gentle with yourself - if you brush do it gently, don't floss, the salt water idea just above was great. Hope you feel better soon.
Reply:call your dentist and ask for a perscription of "Peridex".. its a medicated mouthwash that helps the healing of gums... don't rinse your whole mouth w/ it, just dip a q-tip in the rinse, and swab the area twice a day
Reply:I vote for Blondeambition's answer, but if they are really sore after the weekend, you might have temps that are too long and irritating your gums. Try all of her suggestions and go get it checked out if they do not work.
Reply:i don't know, but i just got my wisdom teeth out and it's probably the same like 2-4 days....
Reply:Gargle with salt water. they will stop hurting by tonight. get some oil of clove from a pharmacist or some ambesol and rub on them with a q-tip every hour or so. It tastes like hell but eases the pain.
Reply:You really should call and ask your dentist but I believe mine were just sore for a day or two.

Can you get temporary crowns to make your teeth look sharper?
Okay, so apparently, having my dentist sharpen my teeth is a bad idea. But, could I get temporary crowns over them, so they will look sharper? And would it be costly. I MIGHT get permanent ones if they don't do temporary, and if they could make my teeth look sharper. I just want my canine teeth done. Don't ask why. And around how much would it most likely be?

Crowns?????
What exactly is a crown, and my dentist tell me that it doesn't feel, the surgery, much different than a cavity. is this true, or does it hurt like heck???
Crowns?????
I got a crown a few months ago, and it truly did not hurt any worse than a cavity. I was skeptical, but it's true. I took Advil the day of the crown and the day after because my mouth was a little sore, but that was it. You'll be fine.
Reply:Essentially a crown is a cap for the tooth. It surround the tooh and keeps splitting forces from fracturing off cusps when there has been decay and a loss of healthy tooth structure. It should feelthe same as a cavity, though the preparation and drilling is a little more extensive. Basically, the tooth is reduced in every dimension, and an impression is taken to be sent to a lab where they make the cap fit perfectly for your tooth. Your dentist will then have you back to adjust the crown in your mouth and then cement it. Here's a link to a picture showing the reduction of the tooth.
http://www.obriendentallab.com/images/zc...
Either way, this procedure shouldn't hurt, your dentist will give you anesthetic. You may have some post op soreness though in your gums from the impression process.
Reply:Hi, I'm a dentist.
A crown is a single-tooth restoration that completely covers the "crown" of the tooth (the part of the tooth visible above the gum line). Crowns can be fabricated from many different materials, including full porcelain, porcelain fused to a metal substructure, and full gold.
Having a tooth prepared for a crown should not be much different to the patient than having a filling prepared. It will likely take a little longer for the crown, however.
It shouldn't hurt at all, as you will be numb.
Good luck.

What player won the most batting crowns in consecutive years?
While Ty Cobb won an astonishing 11 batting crowns! Some one else holds the record for most consecutive years winning the batting crown in either respected league. Who owns the record for most consecutive years winning the batting crown in their league? How many consecutive years was it?
What player won the most batting crowns in consecutive years?
It is Hornsby with 6, however the case could be made that
Rod Carew should have the record with 7, as his streak of 6 out of 7 batting crowns (1972 to '78) was interrupted in 1977
by George Brett who sat out the last two games to keep his % at .333 to nip Rod who ended up at .331.
Either way, Carew and Hornsby were the dominant hitters in their eras.
Link to Carew's stats below.
Excellent question, by the way.
Reply:This is in response to sportsguys comment actually George Brett sat out due to hemorhoids if you remember anything about Brett's career sittig out to win an award was not in his character, in fact they tried to get him to sit out in 1980 so that he would have a .400 BA but he would not do it
Reply:Roger Hornsby of the St. Louis Cardinals won six consectutive batting titles between 1920 and 1925. He won seven titles in all
1920 - .370 BA
1921 - .397 BA
1922 - .401 BA
1923 - .384 BA
1924 - .424 BA

Reply:Hornsby does hold the record with 6, but I think Ted Williams could of done it had his career not been interupted by militatary servcie. He led the league in 41-42, then left until 46 for the war. Thats a span of three season in which he didn't play. He didn't win it the year he came back but he still hit 342 after a 3 year break. He led the league the two years after not winning it in 46. Its no gaurantee, but without the missed time he had a possibility of doing it for 8 years in a row. The first two, the three he was gone, the first year back when he was a little rusty, and then the other two he won. I know its alot of maybes, but he still could of done it.

1925 - .403 BA

What if you have two hair crowns on your head?
My neice has two crowns one next to each other and it seems like her hair is growing in two different directions. Is there a way to train her hair to be normal?
What if you have two hair crowns on your head?
It is very hard to train hair. Using a blow dryer can some times help but in order to make sure you hair stays the way you want it, you have to be very dedicated to following the same process every day. after a while it will start going the way you want but it will never completely go away. The longer your hair is, the better. The natural weight of your hair will pull it down and cause it to be more manageable.
Reply:Most of the time two crowns are very hard to train to go another way. It is a hereditary thing and it is growing in several different directions. If you comb it and blow dry it holding it the way you want it to go everyday it is possible to train.
Reply:do you mean "cowlicks"??
let her hair grow long so they will lay down.. the weight of the long hair will pull them out..

What does it mean when you have no margins around your crowns?
I had the dentist put in two crowns side by side. I went to another dentist because I'm done with the first and asked her to look at my crowns and she said that there were no margins. Is there a way to fix this? I have to go back anyways to have the first dentist fix the crowns that aren't fitting right. I just do not want to have any more problems than what I have experienced already.
What does it mean when you have no margins around your crowns?
The margins on a crown are where the edge of the crown meet the tooth. If there are no margins, or open margins then the crowns not only fit poorly, but can also have a problems with decay from seepage getting under the crown(s). The margins need to be perfectly flush and when a dentist runs an explorer or instrument over the edge there should be a smooth transition no gaps, no rough area just nice and smooth.
I would give some thought about having the second dentist do the crowns if possible, instead of the #1 dentist. It might be better to have the #1 dentist refund your money/insurance and get them done somewhere else because who is to say the second ones will fit any better than the first ones????
P.S. The only way to fix the crowns properly would be to remake them.
Reply:well im not for sure but i bet u can take the dentist that put the crowns in w/o margins to court b/c the something they have to have in order to be used corectly ...they push your teeth and as time passe your teeth will start to become crooket
Reply:you need help sorry i am not a dentist good luck
Reply:When she said "there were no margins" I believe she was making mention of "no open spaces" where the crown "did not seat properly" on the prep. Not having a space between the tooth and crown is what we try to achieve. The crowns that leave a space or gap, aren't made correctly or to fit the margins or where the prep ends and root begins. These crowns aren't seating all the way down on a prep, this leads to hyper-sensitivity and decay.
Anytime you don't understand what your dentist is saying just ask them to explain it to you. It can save you a lot of worry and grief. Sometimes when we speak between each other, we're not thinking that you are listening and possibly misunderstanding what we are discussing. We are really making a verbal note that is to be recorded in your chart. The only time you should be concerned is when we bring it to your attention and tell you "this has to be replaced" or "needs to be taken care of." So anytime if in doubt, just ask. There are no stupid questions asked in dentistry, only the ones that go unanswered because they were never ask.
Additional information: if you have "no margins" your crowns have been made correctly.
If you have gaps or your dentist can feel the ridge separating the tooth and crown, then they are "not" good crowns and need to be remade.
Hope this helps, I think in explaining the differences between a good and bad crown, it may have become a bit confusing.

How long do asparagus crowns take to sprout?
I planted 50 Gijnlim asparagus crowns 2 weeks ago. So far 34 have come up and I was wondering how long before they all come up and what is the likley failure rate?
How long do asparagus crowns take to sprout?
its hard to say how many will fail. mabe 7-10. if they all survive, they should be up in the next month i would think.
i would advise however, that you make shure they do not become waterlogged this winter as they can rott and you will loose them all. raised beds are a good idea. i lost mine last winter that were newly planted. GOOD LUCK!!!
Reply:Wow ... good for you.... It took me 3 yrs before I got any!!!!

Where do most pineapple producers get crowns for planting?
I have to put together a pineapple production system plan for growing pineapples and need to know, when it is time to plant a new pineapple crop, do most farmers buy crowns to plant or do they use crowns from their previous harvest?
Please, no assumptions.
Where do most pineapple producers get crowns for planting?
They use some crowns from a previous harvest and will often have their own greenhouses to force new crowns from quartered plants.
Three parts of the pineapple can be planted: the tops (the crown and leaves); the slips (offsets that grow from the stem); and suckers (offsets that grow from the base of the plant). Every plant produces suckers and these eventually produce a second or ratoon crop. The first and second crops, each of which take 22-24 months to mature, usually produce the commercial yield of a plant. Planting can occur year-round and because there is some choice of planting materials, pineapples can be produced every month of the year.

What types of glue (or cement are used to keep Crowns on teeth and what is the strongest?
I have been having crown problems for a whle and i was wondering is there a type of glue that hey dont use on like younger people getting crowns? Because I got mine (first time) Back in Noveber of 2006 and it broke off in febuary then I got it again and it bre off May again!! Is it because im yung and still growing? Or am i just cursed.
What types of glue (or cement are used to keep Crowns on teeth and what is the strongest?
no you arent cursed, if they have rely x at the detist office ask for that..that is the strongest or keytec is another strong cement...but yes it may be because you are young and still growing...and that is why they wont cement it with a stronger cement...you are absolutely right:)things you can do is try to chew on other side when eating sticky foods ex.bread(yes this is sticky, took off my crown eating a hero) try chewing gum on other side stuff like that when you can...its annoying trust me i have crowns i know once you get a little older im sure it wont be thins annoying...another thing you can do is ask your dentist the reason that the cement isnt working, does the crown feel smooth, glass like(real crown) or a little rough(temporary) they may have made you a temp until you get a little older so ask about that as well...maybe they can provide you with an explaination as well...good luck:)
Reply:HELLO,
THERE ARE VERY STRONG CEMENTS FOR PERMANENT CROWNS. W/O KNOWING WHAT YOUR DENTIST DID FOR YOU AND YOUR TOOTH EXACTLY I CANNOT COMMENT.
Reply:growing is not a cause for a crown to fall
either you have very short teeth or the crown is not fitting in place
there is a lot of cements but the most power full is resin based cement
then comes the glass ionomer type cements
Reply:It sounds like a temporary crown. Is it silver? If you are less than 18 many dentists will wait to put a permanent crown on because your teeth are still erupting. If you put a permanent crown on too soon, later in life it looks like the tooth is wearing a bikini. Not enough crown to cover all the tooth..lol. If it is coming off you probably clench your teeth at night and that can loosen the cement. See if they are using permanent type cement and if not ask them too.
