I have to get four crowns for my upper teeth. Will it look good?

Apparently, I have a lot of cavities. Damn you tobacco...I've quit btw. My dentist said in order for me to make the teeth look good, that I'm going to have to have crown work done and that my insurance will cover it. I've never really had good teeth, so this seems like something that could boost my confidence. I have a gap between my front 2 teeth. Will it close most of it?

Assuming you are consulting with an honest, skilled dentist... then crowns are a very good way to rebuild damaged teeth and have them look good at the same time. Closing the gap is very easily done.

Be aware that dental insurance is only a help to the total expense. You will still have a major amount to pay, and may want to look at getting a personal loan.

But, I'm also concerned about your back teeth. They must have any decay repaired too.

Beside the fact that you quit the tobacco, Congratulations! You must stop any habits with soda or other sweet drinks! They are the main reason for rotten teeth today!
Reply:The crowns will look absolutely natural and blend in with the color of your teeth. The dentist will offer you an option between crowns that are natural colored or the metal kind that used to be so common (I think they're called amalgam). Make sure you choose the former! They are a little more expensive but well worth it. They will unfortunately not close the gap in your front teeth, you will need to have a different procedure for that like braces.
Reply:insurance never covers the entire amount. they will look like regular teeth. check with your insurance about the cost. most will cover a percentage. you might need a spacer for the gap. or veneers.
